"...fearfully and wonderfully made...." Psalms 139

In case you missed either of the last two Wednesday nights we have had some great discussion about how we are reminded in Psalms 139 that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" and how that should be reflected in how we view, "decorate", and conduct ourselves....in the light of our Creator! It should make us less critical of our crooked teeth, moles, and body parts that don't work, etc., and MORE critical of our own motives for changing our appearance! So give yourself a break from the self-criticism and start seeing yourself as GOD Himself sees you....as His own unique creation!

Even this guy, though he is more "fearfully and wonderfully bipolar", reminds us of this important principle!! :-) (Be sure and hang around for the shocking 2nd verse - and make sure you are sitting down!)

The scripture I promised I would post here is I Cor. 6: 19-20..."Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body."

We had a great discussion, too, about how our decisions about our appearance do not JUST affect us alone, but also how OTHERS view us and make assumptions about our commitment to God based on that. Is it fair? Maybe not, but it still MUST be a part of your decision about how you present yourself!
